Collaborative Just Culture® Ability-Level Course

The Individual Ability-Level course is designed for solid waste services professionals seeking an individual ability level certificate. The course includes one full day of virtual video conference sessions combined with online coursework. This training is required for managers and supervisors under the Collaborative Just Culture Program standard for those organizations electing to have the program audited. (Your organization’s commitment to meet the program standard is not required for participation in this cohort.) Each participant earns a downloadable certificate online. The course includes access to the full-day live learning session plus digital downloads of all course materials, syllabus, and the CJCP Standard.

Agenda

The live session schedule is as follows:

  • 9 AM to noon CDT – Sequence of Reliability (SOR), Collaborative Risk Reviews, the Triad processes, CJC program standard, and qualification.
  • 1 PM to 4:30 PM CDT – Case study examples using the Reliability Response Guide

Collaborative Just Culture Programs (CJCPs) are designed to help organizations achieve high reliability through workplace justice, collaboration, increased risk reporting, and organizational response. The universal CJCP standard is the first of its kind. It is based on the success of the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), which led the airline industry to a 95% reduction in the US fatal accident rate. The program has proven successful in healthcare: hospitals, clinics, EMS, and physician groups have met the standard and produced positive outcome data, helping to establish the program as evidence-based practice.

Why This Matters: Reliability science has proven that the more risks that are seen, reported, and managed collaboratively, the greater the chances of prevention. Evidence-producing benefits of the program include:

  • Fewer accidents and incidents leading to a reduction in injuries, fatalities,  and insurance claims, and lower premiums;
  • Greater employee satisfaction with lower turnover rates.

Pricing

SWANA members receive the discounted rate of USD $799 per person (standard price is USD $999). Included with your registration is the CJC Fact-Gatherer Role Qualification. This role qualification builds proficiency in using the Sequence of Reliability method to gather facts and conduct analysis in support of Collaborative Risk Reviews and Triad Reviews.
